FlatMile fits an individual driver who wants free automatic logging and one annual plan to unlock captured details and PDF reports. CSV export remains free for unlocked drives. You review the captured trips, add the purpose and export your tax year.
MileIQ may fit better if you rely on cloud recovery, a web dashboard, team administration or an established workflow you already trust. A lower subscription price alone does not make switching worthwhile.
- Export your existing CSV and PDF records and keep the original files.

Is FlatMile cheaper than MileIQ?
FlatMile’s US annual subscription is $69.99 for subscriptions started before 1 January 2027. MileIQ’s US App Store lists its annual purchase at $139.99 as checked on 12 September 2026. Prices, eligibility and renewal terms depend on your storefront; review the purchase screen before subscribing.
Does FlatMile track drives automatically?
Yes, free and with no trip limit, once you grant the required location permissions. Captured drive details remain held until a subscription or eligible trial unlocks them. Bluetooth helps identify your vehicle; it is not required to start recording. Review your log regularly and add or correct drives when needed.
What can I use for free?
Automatic logging and manual entry are free. Captured drive details are held without a subscription; typed manual, odometer and imported entries are not held. CSV export is free for unlocked drives and excludes still-locked captures. An annual subscription or eligible trial unlocks held drives and adds classification and PDF reports. MileIQ advertises 40 automatically detected drives per month on its free plan.
Can I bring my MileIQ history?
FlatMile has CSV import with a preview before saving. Export and keep your original MileIQ files, then check the preview, trip dates, units and totals against your original report. What happens when my subscription ends?
Drives unlocked during a subscription or trial stay open after it ends. Automatic logging continues, with new captured drive details held until you subscribe again. Typed manual, odometer and imported entries are not held. CSV export stays free for unlocked drives and excludes still-locked captures; PDF reports need active paid access. FlatMile does not operate a cloud backup of your drives, so keep exported copies.

Eligible new subscribers can try the subscription free for 14 days. The annual subscription renews automatically unless cancelled. Your App Store purchase screen shows your eligibility, annual price and when you will be charged.
