Terms of Use

Last updated 6 October 2026

This page covers the FlatMile iPhone app. It is the page the app links to from its subscription screen. For app and website data handling, see Privacy.

The licence

FlatMile is licensed, not sold, under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. That document is the licence itself and it governs your use of the app. This page does not replace it; it sets out the things specific to FlatMile that the standard agreement leaves to us.

FlatMile does not require a separate app account or a separate click-through licence. The operator named below is the App Provider and licensor under Apple’s Standard EULA. Apple operates the App Store, processes the purchase and manages billing.

Who you are dealing with

FlatMile is made and operated by Reklit BV in the Netherlands. Reach us at hello@flatmile.com.

The subscription

FlatMile is an annual auto-renewing subscription, sold through the App Store. The current price is shown on the App Store and on the app’s subscription screen before you buy, in your own currency.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or after an eligible free trial ends as shown on the purchase screen.
  • It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
  • Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep what you paid for until that period ends.
  • Apple takes the payment, issues receipts and decides refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot charge or refund your card ourselves.
  • Eligible users may receive a 14-day free trial. Your purchase screen shows eligibility, the annual renewal price and the date of the first charge. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.

What the subscription covers, and what does not need one

Automatic drive capture does not require a subscription. A drive captured without an active subscription or eligible trial is kept, with its distance, route, starting place, value and business or personal classification locked until you subscribe; subscribing unlocks every such drive. PDF reports require an active subscription or eligible trial. Adding drives by hand and CSV export of every drive that is not locked do not, and keep working after a subscription ends; drives captured while you were subscribed stay unlocked. Export is deliberately available in every state: nothing you could see while subscribed is taken back when a subscription ends, and a drive kept locked is included in exports as soon as it is unlocked.

What FlatMile does not promise

  • It is not tax advice. A FlatMile report is a neutral mileage record. It is not addressed to any revenue service, no authority has reviewed or approved it, and whether it satisfies your obligations is between you, your accountant and your own authority.
  • Published rates are reproduced, not endorsed. Where FlatMile shows a standard rate it names the source and the date that source was verified. Authorities change rates on their own schedule; check the citation if a figure matters to you.
  • Automatic capture depends on iOS. It needs Always location permission and is subject to whatever the operating system allows a background app to do, which Low Power Mode, revoked permissions and poor signal all affect. Review your log and correct any gaps before relying on a report.
  • We cannot recover your data. Your drives live on your iPhone, not on our servers. If you lose the phone or delete the app without exporting, we cannot restore them from a FlatMile server. Keep regular exported copies and check any device backup you choose to use.

Acceptable use

Do not use FlatMile to record a journey you have no right to record, and do not present a FlatMile report as something it is not — an authority-issued, certified or approved document. The app is for logging your own driving.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the updated date above changes with them and the change is described here rather than applied quietly. Continuing to use the app after a change means the updated terms apply.

Governing law

We are established in the Netherlands and Dutch law applies, without affecting the consumer protections you have where you live. Nothing here removes a right you hold under the law of your own country, or under Apple’s Standard EULA and the App Store terms you accepted with Apple.
