What happened to MileIQ?
The ownership change, the move from about $60 to about $140 a year, and what to check before switching.
The short answer
MileIQ is still operating. Bending Spoons acquired it in July 2025. Its US annual price is now about $140, but the first increase in the historical record came before the acquisition.

What does MileIQ cost now?
Checked on 12 September 2026: the US App Store lists annual and monthly purchases at $139.99 and $13.99. MileIQ’s website shows $11.66/month billed annually. Multiplying that rounded monthly display gives $139.92; it is not the exact App Store annual price.
The free plan advertises 40 automatically detected drives each month. Existing renewals, other countries and team plans can differ. Read the bill or renewal notice for your own plan before making a decision.
The published price history
These historical website snapshots were catalogued for the original 1 September 2026 article. The annualized column multiplies a monthly display by twelve where needed; it does not establish the amount of every customer’s bill.

The first increase came before Bending Spoons
The recorded website price changed from approximately $60 to $90 between May 2024 and March 2025. Bending Spoons’ acquisition was announced on 8 July 2025. Later snapshots still show $90 in February 2026 and about $140 by July 2026.
About $60 to about $140 is roughly a 133% increase across the full period. That history does not establish when every subscriber received a new price, why each decision was made, or what a future price will be.
What MileIQ says changed
In its subscription price notice, updated 18 May 2026, MileIQ says the adjustment retains the customer’s plan features and limits. It cites recent improvements, including faster processing, classification tools and dark mode. Those are the company’s explanations, rather than an independent performance test.
The notice says affected customers receive their specific new price before renewal. Check that message or account billing to understand your own situation.
Three things to do before switching
- Save the history you already have. Export your original CSV and PDF records while you can access the product. Keep them even if you stay.
- Compare the work, as well as the price. Consider report periods, team needs, cloud recovery and how much time a new workflow takes.
- Try a replacement on familiar drives. Check capture, classification and exports before retiring the old log. Reconcile imported records with the original totals.

Should I switch mileage apps?
