How to export MileIQ records and switch

Preserve the original files first. FlatMile’s importer is planned, not a verified customer workflow. This page cannot reconstruct drives you never recorded.

Do this before you cancel anything

Export CSV and PDF (or XLS where MileIQ sends that instead) for the months and years you still need. Keep those files even if you stay on MileIQ. Keep using your current tracker until a new app has been checked against your real drives.

Export from the MileIQ iPhone app

MileIQ’s help article Generating mobile Reports (checked 5 September 2026) describes:

  1. Open the report control in the upper-right of the app.
  2. Choose a month or year.
  3. Choose business, personal or all drives.
  4. Send the report to yourself (or a saved contact).
  5. Download the attachments from the email MileIQ sends.

US monthly emails typically include all-drives CSV, all-drives PDF and a business-drives PDF. Canada and UK users may receive XLS instead. Annual packs are described as yearly summary and detailed logs. Labels and buttons can change — if the app does not match, use the help article or the web dashboard.

Export from the MileIQ web dashboard

From How to request a Monthly Report and The Reports view (US) (checked 5 September 2026):

  1. Sign in at dashboard.mileiq.com with the same account as the app.
  2. Open Reports and create a report for the date range and drive types you need.
  3. After it is generated, download CSV and PDF from Archived Reports.

We have not run these steps on a cancelled or lapsed MileIQ account. Do the export while you can still open the product.

Preserve the original

  • Keep the email and the files. Do not “clean up” columns until you have a second copy.
  • Note the export date, MileIQ app or dashboard version if shown, and whether the file is miles or kilometres.
  • Watch for duplicate months if you export overlapping ranges.
  • Classification in the file is what you (or the app) already assigned. A new app will not know your purpose better than that file.
  • Time zones can shift a late-night drive onto the next calendar day. Totals should be reconciled against MileIQ’s own summary before you delete anything.
  • For a US 2026 year, split miles at 1 July. The rate guide has the two rates and a calculator.

What FlatMile can do with that file later

CSV import from other trackers is planned. Existence of importer source code is not a promise that your columns, duplicates or year-to-date totals already work. When a tested import exists, this page will add a synthetic demonstration and a sample file. Until then, treat FlatMile as a future destination, not a drop-in replacement.

After you have the files

Join the iPhone early-access list if you want an email when a build is ready to try. Keep MileIQ (or another live tracker) until you have evaluated the new workflow.
